Direct Thermal printing doesn't use ink (a ribbon) but heats a special chemical paper; it's economical, but the label fades over time (ideal for shipping). Thermal Transfer printing uses an ink ribbon that transfers to the label; it guarantees prints that last for years and are resistant to light, heat, and rubbing.

Choose an Industrial printer if you print high volumes (thousands of labels per day), work in dusty or harsh environments, and need high speeds. The Desktop printer is perfect for low to medium volumes, smaller spaces (offices, counters), and tighter budgets.

DPI ( Dots Per Inch ) indicates the print definition.

• 200 dpi: Standard for logistics and shipping labels (large text and simple barcodes).

• 300 dpi: Ideal for small text, logos and high density barcodes.

• 600 dpi: Necessary for very small labels (e.g. electronics, jewelry) or for printing sharp micro-text.

Print quality depends on the label and ribbon combination. Using high-quality or certified ribbons (such as those supplied by Finlogic) protects the printhead from premature wear and ensures that the barcode is always readable by scanners, avoiding supply chain bottlenecks.
